Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire — The West-Central Africa Division (WAD) received, to everyone’s surprise, a visit from Professor Adekunle A. Alalade, former Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, on the sidelines of the presentation of his book titled The Seventh-Day Sabbath, a Bible Study (Le Sabbat du Septième Jour, une Étude Biblique).
While in Abidjan to promote his book, Professor Alalade made a brief visit on April 7, 2026, to the Division headquarters, thus demonstrating his attachment to the work of the Church in this region. Warmly welcomed by the representatives of the institution’s leaders, he expressed his deep appreciation for the leadership and sustained efforts made toward the advancement of the mission.
In his remarks, the former Vice-Chancellor commended the commitment of the Division’s leadership and staff, while encouraging them to continue their mission with diligence. He particularly emphasized the need for workers to demonstrate greater professionalism, supported by a life of genuine consecration, in order to effectively meet the contemporary challenges of evangelism.
“The work of God requires not only skills but also a fully consecrated heart,” he stressed, inviting everyone to renew their commitment to the service of the mission.
Although brief, the visit was perceived as a moment of encouragement and inspiration for the Division staff, strengthening their determination to work with faithfulness and excellence in fulfilling their mandate.
The presentation of the book The Seventh-Day Sabbath, a Bible Study is part of an effort to strengthen biblical teaching on the Sabbath, a fundamental pillar of the Adventist faith, and aims to further equip believers in their understanding of the Scriptures.
The West-Central Africa Division thus continues to benefit from the contributions of committed leaders and thinkers, contributing to spiritual edification and the strengthening of the mission across the territory.
