Pastor Udoh charges graduates as Valley View University holds 33rd graduation ceremony
The President of the West-Central Africa Division and Chancellor of Valley View University (VVU), Pastor (Professor) Bassey Udoh, has charged the graduating Class of 2025 to go forth as leaders, innovators, and ambassadors of hope who are grounded in integrity, compassion, and excellence.
The four-day celebration, held from August 14–17 under the theme “Trained to Serve: Advancing the Mission with Integrity and Excellence,” featured a banquet and fundraising dinner, consecration service, baccalaureate service, and climaxed with the grand convocation on Sunday at the University Chapel, Ghana.
In his address at the graduation ceremony held on August 17, 2025, Prof. Udoh described the day as one of joy, honour, and deep responsibility, noting that the event was not simply the conferring of degrees but the release of a new generation of nation-builders. He reminded the graduates that leadership and governance are sacred duties, urging them to carry the values nurtured within VVU into a world yearning for truth and direction. “You have run the race with courage, you have stayed the course with faith, and today, you wear the crown of achievement with dignity.
“The world you enter is filled with uncertainty. But you are not helpless. You are empowered with knowledge, equipped with faith, and called to lead. Lead with humility. Govern with justice. Serve with compassion. Innovate with courage. And above all, remain anchored in Christ,” he charged. Prof. Udoh also highlighted the University’s growing influence in Africa’s educational landscape, citing its integrity-driven leadership, strategic international partnerships, and commitment to quality Christian education.

He concluded his remarks with gratitude to parents, faculty, and honourees, commending their contributions to the university’s mission.
Earlier on Saturday, during the Baccalaureate Service, the Chancellor offered special prayers for the Republic of Ghana in the wake of the recent national tragedy, the crash that claimed the lives of eight government officials, who were laid to rest on Friday, August 15, 2025.
This year’s graduation attracted a distinguished audience of government leaders, academics, parents, and friends who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025.
Special guests included H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana; Pr. Dr. Michael Owusu, President of the Southern Ghana Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church; and Prof. William K. Koomson, Vice Chancellor of VVU, among other notable personalities.
