Leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in West Central Africa paid a courtesy visit to President Joseph Nyumah Boakai of the Republic of Liberia on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.
The delegation was led by Pastor Bassey E. O. Udoh, president of the West-Central Africa Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and included Pastor John Osward Baysah and other leaders of the West Africa Union Mission. The visit affirmed the church’s commitment to support national development, peace, and prosperity in Liberia.
During the meeting, Udoh acknowledged President Boakai’s longstanding relationship with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He recalled the president’s worship visits with the church during his tenure as vice president and expressed appreciation for his support for the church’s mission, including a previous donation of a vehicle to the South-East Liberia Mission. Udoh also commended the president for appointing several Seventh-day Adventists to national service positions and for leadership which strengthens Liberia’s international standing.
Udoh highlighted the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s contribution to Liberia through education, health care, and community service. The church operates one university, five high schools, one hospital, and several clinics across the country. He invited the president to visit and worship with the Seventh-day Adventist Church as head of state and requested support to improve the road leading to the Adventist university along the Robertsfield Highway, which would benefit students, staff, and surrounding communities.
