Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Department Council in Silver Spring

The Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Department held its annual council from February 20 to 22, 2026, at the headquarters of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Silver Spring, in the state of Maryland, United States.
This international gathering brought together department directors and leaders from the various world divisions to reflect on contemporary issues related to religious liberty, institutional relations, and the representation of the Church in the public sphere.

During these three days of meetings, participants examined strategies aimed at strengthening the promotion of freedom of conscience, consolidating institutional partnerships, and supporting initiatives that uphold fundamental rights in diverse sociopolitical contexts.

This council represents a key moment of consultation, strategic orientation, and prayer, with the purpose of strengthening the Church’s mission in harmony with the principles of religious freedom and human dignity.
