The establishment of these modern infrastructures responds to a strategic need: adapting our missionary communication to the cultural and geographical challenges of our region, which covers six countries (Senegal, Mali, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, The Gambia, and Cape Verde).
Among these six countries, some are located in what is known as the 10/40 Window, a region where evangelization faces major challenges due to the predominance of non-Christian religions and sociocultural restrictions. In particular, Senegal, Mali, and The Gambia have populations that are more than 96% Muslim, making it very difficult to spread the Gospel through conventional methods. These territories require innovative and adapted missionary approaches, such as the use of digital and audiovisual media. It is with this vision in mind that we launched the Web TV project, a strategic tool designed to reach hearts where traditional methods are limited.
A Missionary Tool for Hard-to-Reach Populations
UMOS Web TV is designed to reach hard-to-access populations through evangelical and community-oriented content tailored to local realities.
It will broadcast programs in multiple languages:
- Bambara for Mali
- Wolof for Senegal and The Gambia
- Arabic for Mauritania
- Creole for Guinea-Bissau
- As well as the official languages of our Union: French, English, and Portuguese
Through digital platforms and social media, Web TV will enter homes, spread the Gospel in areas where in-person meetings are restricted, and bring a message of hope to the populations of the 10/40 Window.
Financing and Support
The total cost of the Web TV project amounts to $30,000 USD. A significant portion of this funding was made possible thanks to a generous donation of $20,000 USD from the Korean Union Conference. This valuable support played a key role in making this missionary vision a reality.
Inauguration of the UMOS ADVENT MEDIA Studio
In addition to Web TV, today we officially inaugurate our audiovisual recording studio, UMOS ADVENT MEDIA.This modern studio will serve as a multimedia production center dedicated to creating high-quality content for the evangelistic mission. Specifically, it will enable:
- The recording and production of evangelistic programs
- The creation of podcasts and educational videos
- The broadcasting of messages of hope and faith
We pray that this studio will become a powerful tool for the mission, helping to spread the Gospel throughout the UMOS region and beyond.
Honored Guests and Gratitude
We had the honor of welcoming Pastor CHUNGTAIK PARK, Executive Secretary of the Korean Union Conference, along with Pastor SUNGMIN KIM, Associate Secretary and Communications Director of the KUC. Their presence reflects their commitment to expanding the missionary work in our region.
We express our deep gratitude to the Korean Union Conference for their unwavering financial and spiritual support. Their involvement demonstrates the international solidarity that unites the Adventist Church in fulfilling its mission.
We also extend our thanks to all those who contributed to this project, and we encourage everyone to engage with faith and determination in using these tools wisely for the missionary work.
May God bless our collaboration and give us the strength to continue this mission until the glorious return of our Savior.
