• Encourage professional continuing education program for union communication directors, including implementation of the Certification Program in Communication
  • Conduct Crisis Management Training for administration of the church and institutions
  • Provide communication consultation, including crisis communication to the Fields
  • Develop and implement Public Relations program for the church, including community
  • Establish and facilitate Media Relations with secular media
  • Deliver current news and information through ANN Web site, ANN Bulletin,
  • Operate the division church's main Web site, www.wad-adventist.org, and assorted communication sites
  • Continue to implement involvement in global Internet ministry, including coordination of the Global Internet Evangelism Network
  • Provide a Communique newsletter for the Division
  • Coordinate communication and media services to the GC Sessions and other international councils and events
  • Facilitate media productions and development of communication resources
  • Provide communication assistance to church administration, ministries and services

The department coordinates the activities of the Adventist News Network, a news agency established in 1994, and also hosts the division church's web page onwww.wad-adventist.org.
